Melbourne, Australia – Daikin Australia officially opened its new Daikin Park Melbourne facility in Truganina on Tuesday this week with an opening ceremony attended by Daikin dealers and key business partners involved in the development of the site.
This new facility is a state-of-the-art warehouse facility of 13,603m2. It will serve as a comprehensive logistics solution for Daikin Australia to optimise fulfilment and dispatch operations for finished goods and spare parts in Victoria.
With remarkable features that set it apart, the site offers a storage capacity of 40,000 cubic meters, facilitates the transportation of 700,000 cubic meters of outbound freight annually, incorporates 13 loading docks for streamlined operations, and is powered by the cutting-edge Manhattan Warehouse Management System (WMS).
The facility also houses a Daikin Trade Centre for the convenience of customers and a multi-purposes space that will be used for training and as a drop in office for Daikin staff in the west of Melbourne.
The Daikin Park Melbourne facility is part of an Australian expansion programme to improve Daikin’s supply chain, with other facilities soon to be opened in both Brisbane and Adelaide.
“This significant investment in a new warehousing facility will help improve the efficiency of our supply chain, with a focus on better supporting our customers through Daikin’s direct control of its logistics. In establishing this facility, Daikin has added up to 15 new jobs to Truganina” says Daikin Australia’s Managing Director, Isao Tsumura.
Stages 4 & 5 of the Gateway Logistics Hub have just been completed for Daikin. Constructed by Texco and developed by GPT, the new facility is in the highly sought-after Gateway Logistics Hub. In the industrial precinct of Truganina, it is approximately 15km from Port Melbourne, 19km from the Melbourne CBD and 20km from Melbourne International Airport. The site at 24A Niton Drive, Truganina is accessible to key arterial routes from Dohertys Road.
The facility combines design innovation and energy efficiency technologies, having been designed and built as a 5 Star Green Star facility (subject to certification). The site features a 99kw Solar System, Solar Hot Water and uses sustainably sourced timbers. Daikin is delighted the site will operate as Carbon Neutral and contributes to Daikin’s commitment to reach Net Zero by 2050.
